ABOUT

About us

We are a family of four who have been living on the homestead for over 10 years.  We have lived, laughed, cried, and learned a lot along the way.  Currently, we homeschool our children, raise a few crops, and some animals, while enjoying making a few projects with the sawmill.  We are always interested in growing and producing more for ourselves and community with the wisdom and knowledge God has equipped us with.

Homeschooling our children is stressful at times, but worth every minute of it. We love all of the extra time it allows us with our children.  We do a combination of real-world homeschooling as well as a classical Christian base.  It is important to us that our children know God is the provider of all and Jesus is our savior. We wouldn't have our children's education any other way.

Our garden is ever growing in changing.  We have fruit trees, fruit bushes, and vegetables planted within garden boxes.  Sometimes our animals and garden mix with a few free-range chickens figuring out how to get in the garden.  We also house rabbits in portable runs to allow them to eat the weeds between the boxes or add fertilizer to a future growing area.

Goats and chickens are the main animals around here.  Goats are used for milk as well as a little bit of meat.  Chickens of course are egg providers and meat.  Our flock grows every year sometimes in numbers and sometimes with different types of birds.  We have ducks and turkey too.  Rabbits are another meat source for our homestead.  Now if we can just keep the goats and birds in their designated areas.

The sawmill is the newest addition to our homestead.  After building a small coffee table for me from a slab a friend gave us my husband found another joy in life.  Now he mills wood from our homestead and uses it to make tables, benches, fences, wall coverings, and many other items.  Be sure to check out the store for some of his latest cutting and projects.

This website acts as our store for selling items made on the homestead, for the homestead, or loved by someone on the homestead, as well as a personal blog and records for keeping up with the homestead. The children, garden, animals, and the sawmill keep us on our toes around here.  Join us on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, or all three to stay up to date with the changes and learning experiences on our homestead.
